Holguin is one of the fourteen provinces of Cuba. Cuba is located in the Caribbean and is an island which more long than wide. Cuba is the largest island of the Caribbean and has fourteen provinces. Cuba is a unique country and is worth a visit. The capital city of Cuba is Havana. The province of Holguin has a land area of over nine thousand square kilometres and a population of over one million. Holguin is located in the south eastern part of Cuba. The province has for capital city Holguin. Christopher Columbus arrived on the coast of Holguin in October 1492, when he landed he said that this place was the beautiful area seen by human. Holguin was founded in 1978 when it split from Oriente region. Holguin has numerous attractions and beautiful beaches. The province of Holguin has fourteen municipalities which are Holguin, Antilla, Urbano Noris, Moa, Banes, Gibara, Rafael Freyre, Sagua de Tanamo, Frank Pais, Cacocum, Baguanos, Mayari, Buenavetura, Cueto.
